Mission:
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Needs:  Did you know that you have as little as two minutes to escape a burning home?  With so little time, families often run to the curb with nothing.  Can you imagine how horrifying it is to look up and realize your home is gone, that you don’t even have a toothbrush?  Immediately after a home fire, the Red Cross connects with impacted families, most without the savings to cover a $400 emergency.  Following these tragic events in Warren County this past year alone, Red Cross volunteers and disaster workers were on hand to help 13 families  – 51 people – providing over $8980 in financial assistance when they didn’t know where to turn. We addressed immediate needs such as food, shelter, clothes, prescription medicines, and more.  We comforted and guided them through critical questions such as do they have shoes or a safe place to sleep?  Do they need diapers or pet food, or will their prescriptions need to be replaced?  We provide all these services in Warren County year in and year out, and nearly every family we assist needs financial support to get back on their feet.  We rely on the generosity of our financial donors so together we are able to provide relief and hope when it is needed most.
