Sugar Grove Community Fund

Apr 7, 2025

The Sugar Grove Development Association (SGCDA) is in our second year participating in Warren Gives… our success in this fundraising effort is your success! SGCDA has taken on maintenance of the Cherry Hill Cemetery, designed and constructed new baseball dugouts (among the nicest in Warren County!), refurbished the town playground, installed a Starlink system in our town’s park, and we hold an annual Music in the Park event. Our big 2026 project is construction of three pickleball courts in our playground / baseball complex.  Each of these projects took a lot of effort and resources to get off the ground, and your donation to SGCDA through Warren Gives is a great way to provide funding for long-term upkeep for each of these community improvements.

CFWC is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, so donations made to our SGCDA through the Foundation are tax exempt and tax deductible! 100% of each donation to the fund goes to the fund since the Community Foundation pays all administrative and credit card processing fees, plus the match pool makes every donation through Warren Gives grow. Last year’s event distributed over $1 million much needed dollars to 110 participating organizations thanks to the outstanding generosity of donors and match pool sponsors!

To donate to our fund, visit warrengives.org and donate to the “Sugar Grove Community Fund.” The website contains instructions for online and by-mail donations. Donating is safe, secure, and tax deductible.

SGCDA Advisory Committee:

    • Gene Wilston, President
    • Dru Freeborough, Vice President
    • Randy Tack, Secretary
    • Joe Spess, Accounts Officer
    • Lynette Hedman, Advisor
    • Ryan Hoffman, Advisor
    • Lauren Hinkle, Advisor

Current Goals/Needs:
(1) Raise $25,000 through donations which the Community Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar. Those donations will be added directly to the SGCF’s principal/investment capital, left untouched, to grow.

(2) Grow the fund to produce a steady stream of distributed income each year to support ongoing maintenance needs within the community.

We are excited about the progress being made in Sugar Grove and we hope you will donate to the future of Sugar Grove with a donation through Warren Gives. 100% of each donation to the fund goes to the fund since the Community Foundation pays all administrative and credit card processing fees, plus the match pool makes every donation through Warren Gives grow. Additionally, the first $25,000 donated to the Sugar Grove Community Fund will receive a dollar-for-dollar match from the Community Foundation of Warren County to help grow the fund.
